Alicante

For the most part, Europe enjoys temperate weather year-round. So if you’re looking for a good Spring Break destination, you can’t go wrong with Spain, specifically Alicante, which sits on the beach of the southern coast of the country.

Alicante is a quaint city, ideal for relaxing, whether you feel like laying out on the beach, soaking up the Spanish sun, or sitting in a café, enjoying café con leche and churros con chocolate.

Spanish cuisine shouldn’t be overlooked, and while in the city be sure to sample tapas, paella, and sangria.

One of the hot spots of the city is the Castillo*, which overlooks the town. Originally intended to be a fortress, it now acts as host to a museum and some of the best views of the city. *Note that you will have to pay to go up the lift to the top of the cliff.

And when you’re all done, don’t forget to enjoy the most celebrated of Spanish pastimes: the siesta.
