Paris

Paris, France is, hands-down, my favorite city in all of Europe! The city has the stereotypical French romantic atmosphere. I would highly recommend visiting Paris at some point during your time in Europe. I have been twice so far, and I loved both trips. I would advise you to book a hostel or hotel near the Rue Cler area in Paris — it is the perfect location & absolutely beautiful! The Rue Cler area is right near the base of the Eiffel Tower, with quick and easy access to all other tourist attractions.

The Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Champs de Elysees, Sacre Coeur, Notre Dame, Louvre Museum, & Luxembourg Gardens are all must-see attractions! Rick Steves wrote an excellent travel guide book on Paris with very helpful hints and maps. I would recommend purchasing it if you plan on visiting Paris.

Paris can be expensive (cafes, restaurants, shopping), but there are also cheap patisseries on every corner! You can get a massive loaf of bread for 50 cents – Euro cents, that is.

The public transportation in Paris is quite easy as well! They have a system similar to London’s “tube,” but it is called “Le Metro”. It is quite inexpensive, and Le Metro runs all throughout Paris! No need to worry about buses or taxis. And don’t forget to eat a french baguette and a crepe while you’re there!
