Budapest

By Rachel Path

Budapest, pronounced Budapesh by the locals, is an amazing city.  I had no idea what to expect upon my arrival, but it ended up being one of my favorite destinations outside of the UK.  Two others and myself stayed at The Groove Hostel.  It was a nice place with very friendly and helpful people, as well as a great location.  Make sure you go on a FREE walking tour.  Yes, I said free and it was one of the most interesting tours I have ever been on.  You get to see all the sights from the Chain Bridge to the Buda Castle (which may look familiar if you’ve seen Katy Perry’s music video for “Firework”).  After your tour of the largest city in Hungary you may be a little hungry (sorry, bad joke) so go get the what I believe to be the best falafel I have ever tasted at Hummus Bar.  I know a lot of people may give you a confused look (the one with the arched eyebrow) when you tell them you have been to Budapest, but honestly it is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever had the pleasure of adventuring to so I highly suggest that you make your way over there.
