Calling Internationally

Calling internationally can be a bit of a pain. I am certain that each and every one of you will have friends that will be studying abroad in different countries. If you would like to contact these people by phone (either when you are in their country or your own), you need to have an international dialing code in order for the call to go through.

This was a problem at the beginning of our program, as we found that when we were in another country trying to contact a friend, the calls were not going through.

So how do you find the international dialing codes? This website makes life extremely easy and it is very easy to use.

Simply put in the number you are trying to reach, what country your phone was purchased in and the country you are calling. It will then read out the correct international dialing code for you.

Also note that your calls will be MORE expensive when you are calling inside a different country. I would recommend topping up before you travel because of this.

You’re welcome.
