It’s unlikely that you won’t run into a Nando’s at some point during your time in London, as there are over 65 of the Portuguese restaurants in the city. Nando’s is famous for its chicken and “Peri-Peri” seasoning, named for a type of chili pepper. They also have a good variety of wraps, salads and bean burgers.

Most importantly, though, it’s one of the only places in London where you can get free soda refills.

Here’s how Nando’s works:

When you walk in, a hostess will seat you and you have as much time as you need to peruse the menu.

If you’re ordering chicken, you get to pick which “Peri-Peri” marinade you want: lemon and herb, mango and lime, plain, medium, hot, extra hot or extra extra hot.

Go to the counter and order (don’t forget your table number) and pay. A waiter will then bring your food to you, and you can grab as many sauces and dressings as you want.
