Somerset House

By Heather Riske

Another unique London museum worth checking out is Somerset House, located on the bank of the Thames not too far from Trafalgar Square. Somerset House is an arts and cultural centre that houses contemporary art and design exhibitions as well as popular events. When my roommates and I visited, we saw exhibitions on Dazed & Confused magazine and Frontline reporting.

The venue also hosts the bulk of London Fashion Week twice each year in February and September. The central courtyard hosts a range of outdoor events, including the “Summer series” concerts each July. In the winter, it’s transformed into one of London’s most popular open-air ice skating rinks.
