Use Cash

It’s always nice to carry a little cash while abroad!

Try to exchange at least $200 for Great Britain Pounds before leaving the States so you can make all necessary first day purchases with ease.

You can exchange currencies at your bank, or a place called Travelex Currency for the best exchange rates. It’s best to avoid exchanging currencies at the airport because sometimes they have the highest exchange fees.

Once you’re in the UK try to withdraw cash more often than you use your debit card; withdrawing cash will help you save money in the long run because you’ll avoid the 3% international fee for every card purchase.
